Project: Accelerator Design System
Overview
Synechron’s accelerator program is a big part of how they gain new clients and at the same time flex their expertise. Every year Synechron works on proof of concepts in order to pitch technical and design solutions to potential clients in the financial and insurance space. The main goal, is spark interest and gain new clients.
This program has been running for years but there’s hasn’t been a cohesive or a consistent design process for dev hand off. There could be up to ten proof of concepts being run at the same time each with their own pod of designers and developers.
The design system was a solution to speed up design and development and so that teams can focus more on their solutions.
The Design System
How it started
The initial design components and styles were based on an accelerator project I was put on. That project became the base of the design system moving forward.
Refinement
In order to refine and develop the design system, I collaborated with designers and developers from different regions. Together, designers from New York, Dubai, Amsterdam and India refined the components, and design patterns.
We worked closely with a dev team from Dubai who built their very own dev system sandbox. This allowed us to transfer the UI components straight into a documentation used by developers.
